Thankfully, there are a few. Out here in the Bay Area where I live I buy some of my produce, wine, cheese, dairy from a small little store called Milk Pail Market (http://www.milkpail.com/). There is also the farmers market movement in most American cities these days which puts the customer in touch directly with the growers.
