Hoo, boy, this started for me while still in the Institute, with opinion 
fiercely divided between SI and NI food. Both felt the other was inedible, and 
there was no meeting ground. East and West India stayed strictly out of this 
'food fight'.

Ironically, we kept getting excluded from apartments for rent when we were 
looking for these, because of the fear of Bengali food
