In my very subjective opinion the Thinkpad line has never been the same without IBM. The 13" Apple Macbook (now called MacBook Pro 13") is very very good - pricey, but you get what you pay for. In fact, for that combination of power, reliability and quality Apple is pretty unbeatable. Cheeni
