I started wearing contact lenses (hard lenses) in....hmm....1975 or something. Moved to semi-soft, and then soft lenses. Gave them up just last year because of the bifocal difficulties. Never had any trouble with them..but I've seen so many of my friends blench at the thought, and turn away from me when I had to put them in! They (the lenses, not the friends) actually brought down my dioptre number (lessened my myopia) and were SO practical in rainy or humid weather. I've only once had an eye infection in all those years of use. But there have been hilarious incidents when the lenses (never happened with the soft lenses, only the hard ones!) fell off in various places, and I had to hunt for them, sometimes unsuccessfully, one of the best being a lens falling into a vegetable vendor's basket in a bus. It's not "into" your eyes, technically......it's 'on' your eye. So...go for the Byronic Good Looks Improvement if you wish, Biju, providing that the eye doctor gives the green signal.
