Dear Debbie, I think that if I were out in ticky areas a lot, I`d just keep taking the active illness dose all the time. Can`t hurt, and it may keep the nasty little `chetes and their nasty friends from getting a foodhold. I took 3 swallows a day of about 30 PPM CS a day. Now I take a swallow every other day or so as a preventive, but I`m not in a tick area. I do tend to get UTIs a lot, and CS keeps those away. As to the dogs, just keep some in their drinking water all the time. I wish I knew an exact amount to tell you... Good luck!
