Concentration of CS Rule of Thumb Here is a rule of thumb that you can use for approximating the maximum concentration of CS when you make it...
"The maximum concentration for 1 cup of CS made at 1 milliamp for one hour would be approximately 17ppm." __________________ 3 minutes for 1 cup at 1 ma is less than 1ppm (0.85ppm). This is probably great for sterilizing the water. I don't know how great this would be for other things. Two things are important to do. 1/ Use very short time compared to distilled water. about 1/10 of the time. I use two to three minutes per cup of water. I sometimes stir but that doesn't seem to be important. 2/ Keep the current very low. I use a current controller which is set to 1 milliamp. If there is a visible cloud of silver coming off then the process is going too fast. You should just be able to see the silver in the beam of a laser pointer. If you drink the water then you should be able to make cs with it. Hth, Tony Moody -- The Silver List is a moderated forum for discussing Colloidal Silver.
