It says on my container- Warning- for external use only. I have the EQUATE -Wal-mart brand. Lugol's is primarily a Potassium iodide solution. Povidone iodine solution contains Citric acid,disodium, phosphate,glycerin,nonoxynol-9,sodium hydroxide, and purified water. I also have potassium iodide in capsule form that I am taking. I would not take the Povidone internally, myself. Ed.
