For those living in a climate where they grow naturally, absolutely. Fresh lemon juice (please don't ruin it by putting sugar in it) is probably the best source of naturally occurring electrolytes there is.
I've been seriously considering building a small greenhouse and growing some of the dwarf trees, but don't know if they'd be as good (seeing as they're hybrids)...
