Remember folks are spread across many time-zones, plus some systems interact strangely with the Eskimo servers, which are in the Pacific northwest.

Is it set to Pacific Daylight Time, so the server time zone is set correctly... maybe this server is running an unpatched Windows 2000? Windows 2000 currently has a problem that will cause its time to be one hour slow if a patch is not manually applied, and if the admin tries to manually adjust the time, it can cause weirdness...

I know my own posts always show up in my mail program as being posted well before most of the messages I am replying to.

Actually, this one you just posetd shows as coming in one hour in the future as well.

It is only a problem if either the local computer or initial sending server (that the Client talks directly to) - or receiving server - is misconfigured - ie, set to the wrong time zone, improper daylight savings setting, or just plain has the time set wrong. Otherwise, timezones etc don't matter, because smtp servers always use GMT.

I wouldn't consider it a big problem.

No, not huge... but irritating...
