I make my own steam distilled water for all drinking and potable uses.when
distilled it is on the acidic side so I add approx. 40 drops of Concentrace
minerals per US gallon.This brings the Ph up to 7.0 to 7.4.
For testing,I use an Aquarium test kit;cheap!
For making CS/EIS,I double distill.
As for rain water,do this test;place a clean sheet of glass horizontal out
in the rain.Then let the wet surface dry.You will invariably see a scum left
on the glass.This is NOT what you want for CS.I use tap water,but,I let it
sit in pails for at least 24 hrs. to let Chlorine dissipate before
distilling.
