LOL!
I do know a little bit about that. I used to bend neon as a hobby.
Those transformers scare me to death. The one that's out in the garage
also makes a huge humming sound so it sounds even more like a scary
movie. The problem is, I know a little bit, and not enough, so I try
to not kill myself, at least.
It is more what I forget. that mold problem I mentioned before screws
with my thinking, as does exposure to chemicals. I had been trying out
the cleaning with ammonia that morning (ammonia fixes the mold toxin
and makes it non toxic, according to a Dr Croft, who says after
treating it it turns green, so you can still see it, it is not removed,
but it will no longer hurt you). That might have had something to so
with my mistake, but probably not- I just forgot what I had learned
years ago about it. I don't fuss with electricity much, as I am a bit
of a chicken.
Thanks, Dan!

If you are not familiar with the difference between series and
parallel circuits, measuring volts and amps, etc, stay away from that
neon sign transformer!
Although, it is designed to be current limited,
so it *MIGHT* not kill you...
