Hi There Carol Ann - it is very simply get a flat head screw driver and a hammer and at the top of the coconut you make a triangle by hitting the screwdriver with the hammer when you have completed the third side of the triangle you then use the screwdriver to lift the triangle and voilla you have an entrance through which you can either put a straw or empty the coconut out - now this is using a green coconut, if they are allowed to dry then you will not be able to do this and anyway the water out of a dry coconut tastes nasty - so give this system a whirl !!!!
