This recipe is from the World Health Org, recipe for Oral Rehydration
Solution:
1 liter clean drinking water, boiled and cooled
3.5 gm Sodium chloride (salt)
2.9 gm Na3 Citrate dihydrate OR
2.5 gm baking soda
1.5 gm Potassium chloride
20 gm glucose OR 40 grams sugar
sip slowly, and drink 2 to 3 liters daily for the average adult, less
for a child.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
from an online converter:
.58 t salt
.54 t soda
.38 t K salt
2.8 T sugar
also, Mortons' lite salt is a sodium potassium salt that can be found
in the grocery store, check the label. I checked a sports site. Many
sports guys use that in their water with just a little sweetener. They
also say "Thermotabs" are salt replacers in drugstores, another guys
says use Endurolytes capsules. Some of them use diluted fruit juice
instead of sugar. I personally use E-MergenC as an electrolyte
replacer, it has 200 mg potassium plus a bunch of other good stuff, and
I get it at Whole foods or a natural food store.

I have some more notes on solutions for sick kids:
Starch solution:
1 qt clean water
1/2 t salt
2 oz baby rice cereal
Sugar solution:
1 qt clean water
1/2 t salt
8 t sugar
Infants can recieve 1 qt over 24 hours, give fluid with a teaspoon,
syringe or dropper, increasing amount as tolerated. After 2-4 hours
check for signs of dehydration, if all better, then can switch to
maintenence, semi solid to solid foods and diluted drinks, not too
sweet. Pedialyte and ricelyte are maintenence drinks.
