Hello everyone, Ah, once again you've caught me... Away from my computer the last two days and a couple more days behind even before that. It took a (very nice!) phone call from a member who has my number to alert me to the situation.
I've now caught up with what should be all the Off Topic topics and I request/require the following: End discussion of the various gurus, yogis, psychics, etc., in all contexts. The Dead is Not Dead thread, Sai Baba and his Leelas thread, the Brahmin thread, and all their spin-offs. To Satya Dharma: Although it is a breach of etiquette to post private e-mails to a public forum, I consider it an equal breach of both decency and list rules to assault another member with profanity, privately or not. That is also in the list rules. Any further such behavior will result in my banning you from the group. To Faith St. Francis and others: The preceeding brouhaha is another fine example of why comments on religion or spiritual matters other than *BRIEF* asides or incidental remarks, are prohibited topics. A good guideline is this: If the sole, primary or major purpose of your message is to address a religious, spiritual, psychic, or philosophical theme, even responding to something somebody else posted, it is almost certainly not appropriate and you should not post it. The Off Topic List *IS* functioning, everyone, but you have to be subscribed to it the same way you're subscribed to this one in order to be able to receive the messages. Instructions are found at our web site, www.silverlist.org, at the Off Topic List page. If you don't know how to set up filters to train your e-mail program to sort incoming mail into separate folders for each list, I suggest you learn as soon as possible! This skill is essential to making the best use of both of these mailing lists. If your research on how to do it with your e-mail system is not successful, feel free to ask for help on- list or from me privately. For those of you who finally broke down and complained about the runaway topics (HI KIRSTEEN!!! <grin!>) thank you for being as patient as you were. I will try not to abuse your tolerance so badly in the future, folks. Discussion of prohibited topics should *not* be a frequent or exteneded problem. As before, all CS *and* other health related questions are welcome, within reason, and I ask only that non-CS-related responses be handled more briefly, so as to satisfy basic curiosity and point out resources for further research. Anybody who can decipher e-mail headers will see that I'm sending this some time after 3 am local time. I'll check in again later in the morning to see how y'all are gettin' 'long. Please help by posting no further replies to anything that comes through on these several topics. Thanks.
