publicly as well. Let me highlight the major points I made:

Civil behavior is more effective than rudeness. Profanity does not 
generally rise to the level of "appropriate." I take off-list behavior 
into account in my moderation of the group.

promoting them. I will tolerate neither.

If something offends any of you, I expect to hear from you first via 
private e-mail, so I can take steps to correct the problem.

List-cop is *my* job. I expect everyone's cooperation in policing their 
*own* behavior, and using me as the first and primary means of 
influencing other members' actions. This is not negotiable.
