Human cancer cells require little oxygen, most of their
respiration involves the fermentation of sugar, which is
delivered via the blood stream.

Unfortunately it seems that raising the pH will not reverse the
process once begun. The environment inside the tumor remains
acidic and anerobic. However there are other methods that destroy
or slow the cancer growth, I believe.
