Cathy I have been using our silver puppy for over a year now and absolutely love it. I've had some batches turn yellow the last two times I made it and I think the jars I used may have had some thing on them from washing/drying or my distilled water wasn't as pure. I have found one brand of distilled that makes clearer CS and the others turn. Some much more knowledgeable than me will reply. I always only use a paper towel to wipe down the silver rods and make sure that I alternate them. We use a lot of cs in our household and love our silver puppy. Dianne

This is what I do and I never get any black stuff. I only use paper towel to wipe the electrodes clean. Do you check your distilled water before each use? I use a TDS meter and check mine before and after I have made the CS. The only time I got yellow CS was the fault of the plastic bottles I put it in. When I corrected this, my CS is more or less, the same. Ken sometimes doesn't get his mail on one of his numbers, but I think Mike may have his other number. dee -------Original Message------- From: Cathy Knight Date: 11/04/08 12:34:48 To: silver-list@eskimo.com Subject: CS>Silver Puppy I am new to CS, having made 7 1-qt batches with a Silver Puppy. The first 4 batches were clear; the next two had large particles floating on top and at the bottom of the jar. The last one was very yellow. I used room temp distilled water and used the same process for each. I did wipe the silver electrodes clean between batches with a slightly abrasive cloth. I emailed the company with no response. I need to get a supply made up! Can someone tell me what the problem might possibly be? Thank you for any help!
