The rest of your questions are probably better answered by someone with experience using the LVDC method... I plan to give that a try sometime, but as of yet I've only used the HVAC method. You can find instructions for making simple versions of both kinds of generator here: http://www.electroherbalism.com/Bioelectronics/OtherBioelectronics/ColloidalSilver.htm I've had excellent results following the instructions on that page for the HVAC generator.
