I had this tested some years ago. The results were disastrous. However it was not sprayed, but instead feed in a feeder. I don't see any way you could spay them when in the cocoon stage, since the cells will be capped at that point. Although the caps are porous so that the pupa can get oxygen, I don't think any CS would be able to get in.

What happened is that the CS killed the bacteria in the bee's gut required for their digestion. The hive ended up with masses of bees bloated with honey, who starved to death.
