Re: CS>OT - oil of oreganoDee the term I was looking for was oregano essential oil is "caustic to mucous membranes" is what my books say. You can add 1-2 drops per 4 ounces of milk/ water/juice but do not use more than the recommended drops per ounce or you will do damage to your throat. Make sure that it is never put on your skin or a dogs skin that it isn't diluted in a carrier oil. I can't remember what group it was but someone put undiluted tea tree oil on their dog and it was toxic. The dog is okay now, you can always add more oil to the carrier oil. Working with essential oils it is always better to be safe than sorry. There are absolutely wonderful though :) Nancy ----- Original Message ----- From: wench57 To: silver-list@eskimo.com Sent: Wednesday, August 22, 2012 2:37 PM Subject: Re: CS>OT - oil of oregano
Dee if you swallow it because of the concentrated amount it will burn your throat. Without going to my huge book I am trying to go on memory. I will look for you later this afternoon as you may be able to use 1-2 drops in a glass of water. some other oils can be used that way. Depending on what properties you are using it for will depend on where you use it on your body. I dilute with jojoba oil or almond oil, if you don't have that then olive oil is best. If you will be using it for a specific area on your body for inflammation then I suggest using the reflexology points on the bottom of your foot or diluted on the skin in the area where you want it concentrated. I will look into my book later today as to more information. Is this the sort of oil that you can ingest and does it have to be diluted with another oil? Thanks again. dee ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: wench57 <wenc...@roadrunner.com> Reply-To: "silver-list@eskimo.com" <silver-list@eskimo.com> Date: Wed, 22 Aug 2012 13:04:29 -0400 To: "silver-list@eskimo.com" <silver-list@eskimo.com> Subject: Re: CS>OT - oil of oregano Resent-From: "silver-list@eskimo.com" <silver-list@eskimo.com> Resent-Date: Wed, 22 Aug 2012 10:04:33 -0700 I use essential oils and the best that I have found, in my opinion, is Aura Cacia. They are the purest.
