There is an article in USA WEEKEND from the 5th on page 8 about house molds, including Stachybotrys, which can be fatal and includes serious breathing problems, memory loss, flu like symptoms and bleeding in the lungs! Studies quoted, claim "50% of homes contain mold", most commonly from water (roof) leaks, and that "100% of chronic sinus infections are linked to mold"! The EPA site at: http://www.epa.gov.iaq has more info. I just counted 4 ceiling tiles with water stains and "different colored" molds on them and the back of my fridge has "stuff "growing on the label! Time for spring cleaning! By the way, my Florida mildew seems to enjoy Cs but my pool algaecide has a lingering kill for a year when a 20% mix is sprayed on the walls by my indoor pool or the eves outside but a shorter life on roof tile exposed to rain. It is rather amazing, how it seems to dissolve the mildew - maybe it makes it slid off, as a cup in my 10,000 gallon pool will cause foaming. If you try some, hose yourself off afterwards, as it will cause a sever skin rash at a 20% mix. Think I will go "do the fridge" with it! If you have a persistant mold site (area of condensation on cold water pipes, fridge or air leaks in the cold North or actual water leaks) I strongly suggest you give it a good spray with pool algicide, if it can not be fixed immediately. A HEPA air filter is the next thing to cut down on the air born spores. Even some vacuums now include them - mine is not and I think it spits out 50% of the very fine dust that it picks up - sure makes me sneeze! f...@health2us.com -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver.
