Oh yea
It seems to match all observation that all the silver comes off the
electrode as ions and forms particles later, mostly at some boundary layer
that stirring tends to disrupt.
Most CS will tend to lose some conductivity in a few hours and a light TE
usually becomes somewhat more pronounced with time as well..indicating that
non conductive particles continue to form from conductive ionic content
after the electricity is shut off. Also, some strong batches with high
ionic content will shift color over time but the addition of a little H2O2
clears it up. Storing in a cool place seems to accelerate the color shift.
I have actually seen a white ion cloud shift towards golden where it was
white on one side of the cell and golden on the other with a definite
change line right in the middle.

This seems to hold true unless, maybe, the silver is sputered off with high
voltage and current where it's blasting chunks off the electrode. I think
you'd still get some ions, just fewer of them. I have no experience with
HVAC sputered CS. There's probably a big difference between submerged
electrode and non submerged electrode processes.
