There are a number of reasons why the dosage will vary. One is the mass of the person. With everything else being equal, a person who weighs twice as much would require twice as much. That is why I always specify dosage as so much per day per 100 pounds.
A second reason could do with absorption. High acid content in the stomach may cause some clumping and reduction in the quantity of particles small enough to be absorbed. A third variable could do with elimination rate. A very active kidney or liver could cause the CS to get excreted quite quickly requiring a larger dosage, whereas a poorly functioning one could allow it to stick around for quite some time. One other variable could cause a variation in necessary dosage. To overcome any pathogen requires that the kill rate of the pathogen must exceed the multiplication of the pathogen. The kill rate of the pathogen will be the sum of the immune system's kill rate plus the CS kill rate. If the person's immune system has a low kill rate for the pathogen then more CS would be required, and if it has a high kill rate, then less CS would be required. My wife and I usually take 1 oz a day per 100 pounds, split into two dosages for prevention. For a cure, we up it to a quart or more a day.
