Hi Ken - I've been trying this and that trying to have less aglomeration in my cs brew.  I picked up a coffee cup warmer.  I'll heat the dw in the micro for 2 min. then set it on the coffee cup warmer.  I'm using a qt. canning jar as you suggested to me some time ago.  It does take about 7 hours to complete a brew.  I'm getting a little aglomeration that falls off the wires as I pull it out of the water and a little silver floating on top and the water is tinged yellow very lightly.  I filter it through unbleached coffee filters.  I haven't tested how warm the water is kept, but will.  Also, once I've made several batches like this, I would to have it tested for ppm.

Your suggestion regarding just wiping off the wires instead of making them shiny is interesting.  I'll try that.

Do you have any thoughts on this?
