Thanks, Bob. Now all I need to know is what JK means, but I will guess it is
short for jack? A Ron Cuthbert was good enough to send a schematic of yours
(included here as attachment). Is a CD4027 the same as the 4027BE shown
there? Could you explain what 3//820 ohm (between DF02 and 7805) actually
is? Not sure if the Beck device can handle 36V, but I find that making CS
(actually ionic silver) with approx 1/3-1/2 gram Citric acid added
beforehand in 2 litres of DW, around 17 volts is more than adequate, using a
1500 ohm resistor as current controller (about 11 ma). In fact the voltage
drop across the cell seems to be about 1-2 volts. The no-no's about using
salt as starter is correct for NaCl, but to borrow a phrase "salts aint
salts".

Probably a good idea if you do publish the schematic afresh.
