Dear Sir, Since Huntington's Chorea (Huntington's disease) [HD] has been determined---through direct research---to present as a pronounced loss of neurons in the cerebral cortex via a phenomenon called "excitotoxic cell death"......one should be stimulated to investigate the works of Dr. Russell Blaylock. In a very substantial number of cases involving presentations of excitoxin-induced brain-cell death......Dr. Blaylock achieved measureable success in abating the process through the use of alpha lipoic acid's antioxidant properties.. Although a majority of his cases involved damage caused/exacerbated by excitotoxin compounds such as MSG and Nutrasweet......the chronology of cell deterioration appears identical to the HD presentations. While the pathogenesis of HD remains unknown/undisclosed......one might be encouraged to consider protocols demonstrated to be effective in addressing "excitotoxin-induced" brain-cell death......as published by Dr. Blaylock. Blaylock determined that the neurotransmitters (precursors actually) such as trytophan and tyrosine (obtained normally through diet) had to be closely controlled in susceptible subjects-----or the "brain would go berserk". Additional substances recommended by Dr. Blaylock, as offering support in ANY form of excitotoxic insult, included: N-Acetyl L-Cysteine, Coenzyme Q-10, Acetyl L-carnitine, L-Carnitine, and Taurine. Additionally, general brain function was shown to improve through the use of Lecithin, Phosphatidylserine, Hydergine, and Deanol. In any event since a majority of these substances are of proven value in sustaining proper health, logic invites one to strongly consider their support as ancillary protocols in addressing HD. I encourage you to obtain a copy of Dr. Blaylock's book, entitled, "Excitotoxins, The Taste That Kills". Sincerely, Brooks Bradley. Jerry Karl wrote:
