In that case, a glutathione precursor, Immunocal, is in order. It recycles
ALA, vitamin C, E, and peroxide, directly quenches free radicals, and is
instrumental in both breaking down and chelating toxins.

GSH is the body's main antioxidant, the only one created by the body. It is
being used on all of the other neurodegenerative disorders with very good
results. Any toxin that produces premature cell death will be dramatically
reduced by raising GSH levels.

I'd use it as well as the ALA, but be warned that ALA supplements can be
dangerous to people with mercury fillings.

The NAC Brooks mentioned does work somewhat but has a half-life of two
hours, can produce awful side effects at decent doses, and when withdrawn
the GSH levels plummet. It's really only useful to stop someone's liver from
liquefying during an overdose, and then only for a few days.

Selenium supplementation will help maximize whatever GSH he can produce.
