My osteopath is very much like my chiropractor, in that there is definite manipulation. Some of the positions & effects are the same. My osteopath tends to be more aggressive with some manipulations. I have chronic soft tissue tension in my scapular region/neck from working at a computer all day & my osteopath is the only one who is able to keep me limber enough there to function without "positional" migraines. He is a medical doctor who does prescribe medications, but he also does pressure-point therapy, cranial manipulation and spinal adjustments.
