Margaret,

I don't know who Dr Peter L Reynolds is, but judging from his 'book'
he is not a chemist nor particularly astute. For instance he spends
considerable time warning against the ingestion of 'molecular silver'
(silver ions), and yet all the information he presents about how
silver works refers almost entirely to the use of silver ions.

The whole book is full of misinformation... lots of disparate
information taken and presented out of context to make a case.

The whole business of needing a catalyst to generate CS is rather
confused. Commercial manufacturers use a catalyst (which he does not
name) which is not available to lay producers? Lay producers must use
table salt (sodium chloride) but have to be careful not to split the
salt into its constituent elements, sodium and chlorine (duh!).
Chlorine, Reynolds tells us, is poisonous when swallowed, and by
crikey he is correct... pity that salt disassociates into sodium and
chloride (not chlorine) in water, and that chloride is the most
populous anion in the body. He also tells us that the added sodium
might adversely affect some people... he obviously has no idea at all.

This book has no value what-so-ever as a manual for the evaluation of
colloidal silver, there are some interesting titbits of information,
but in my opinion this book should be withdrawn from public display as
it misinforms rather than educates.

Ivan.

Hi List members,
Anyone know who this chap is Dr. Peter L. Reynolds?
http://www.ajerome.com/public/Helps4Life/nfhelpknow.html
What he says about the Tyndall effect worried me, as I can't detect
one at all in my brews, either with a pencil flash light or a laser
pointer.
Margaret.
