Some quick thoughts from my sleepy head at this hour:

The homeopathic remedy, Apis, is specific for bee stings.

The swelling itself could surely be helped by a clay poultice. The
discoloration "suggests" the possibility of infection setting in. I
would try the clay poultice made with CS and cover both bases.

Adrenal support sounds like it might be needed, i.e., the shakiness and
the allergy possibility. Mega doses of pantothenic acid along with a
high quality adrenal glandular---------either the whole gland, or the
Adrenal Cortical version would be helpful and would do no harm.
Enzymatic Therapy makes Adrenal Cortical Extract in capsules, as does
Cardiovascular Research. Both should be on the shelves of a good health
food store.

Mega doses of a buffered Vit C wouldn't hurt either.

Good luck to your friend; please let us know how he's faring.
