I would offer one comment: cashing such a check, if in fact possible,
could result in unwanted visits by strong-arm types after the cash.
This is something to be avoided like the plague.

Besides, I fingured it was just some kind of money laundering
thing. I finally emailed the man on Sunday and told him to send me
an address to send him back his check.

keep the check as a souvenir. A $34,000 check! I know it's
