Check out the surface area of a dog's mouth and tongue compared to it's body weight, and compare it to the ratio of a human's mouth and tongue to body weight.
Perhaps they do absorb most of it sublingually (if that's the right term). Seriously, the stuff seems to work for people who just chug down the basic 5-10 ppm stuff and seemingly it works for their pets who don't do sublingual.
