Hi Jill, I have suffered chronic urinary tract infections in the past. I have an indwelling catheter which causes many problems. Taking silver has helped me immensely. Generally I just ingest it (about 8 oz. a day) I recently irrigated my bladder with a 70% colloidal silver 30% DMSO (this will carry the silver into your bladder wall) combination. Before I did this I irrigated with a saline solution. Guess what I'm saying is if you can actually get it into your bladder it will probably be more effective. It did not cause any ill affects for me. This is only my experience and we're all different but it may be something to look into. Now he makes home-made CS using a low-current generator that produces a clear product with faint Tyndall effect, which is probably a small particle CS with a large ionic component. To keep himself well he just takes a swallow or two per day, holding it in his mouth for a few minutes before swallowing. On those occasions he gets careless and an infection gets started, he ups the dose by several times and keeps it there until symptoms have subsided for a few days. A resource you may want to review is a study made by Roger Altman, a former list member, of the paths of excretion of silver consumed orally.
