I wonder how H2O2 with baking soda in it would work.  The H2O2 converts the 
metallic silver to sparingly soluble silver oxide (and back again), but as soon 
as it is converted to silver oxide, the baking soda reacts with it making 
silver carbonate, which is very soluble, and locks it in so it cannot be 
converted back to silver metal by the
H2O2.  I suspect that other things that will lock in the silver into a soluble 
compound would work as well, including vinegar (acetic acid) and ammonia 
(ammonium hydroxide), but the baking soda would certainly smell better.
