The first thing to do is to bathe thoroughly as soon as possible after
exposure to remove as much of the plant juice as possible. Remove your
clothing immediately and put it into the washer, touching as littlie as
possible. . Calomine (sp?) lotion is what was traditionally used for
palliative relief. .
I do not know of a cure, but I do know of a preventative. It was on the
market in the 50's for sure. It is called "Ivy Dry". It is simply a
tincture or aqueous extraction of the leaf of PI and PO.
There are three small bottles. You take one today, one tomorrow, and one 30
days hence. You will be completely immune to the effects of the plants for
one year, assuming you respond as I did. From this, I got the Idea of
eating the flowering tops of the Juniper trees, and essentially cured myself
of a vicious allergy to them. Later, I learned that the local
natives---Turtle Islanders---did the same thing.

I recently have been infected with Poison Ivy. I am spraying with cs/dmso
mixture in hopes it will be a quick cure. This is the first time I have ever
had it. Is there anything else I should do to speed things along and has
anyone else had good results using cs for this?
