Thanks, very interesting. I've been told if I donate blood to the red cross they will type my blood. I just think it might come in handy to know someday. My husband knows his because (as you say) it is on his dog tags from his military service.

So they won't tell you, so it has to be done every time you may need blood
(you can lose a couple pints which can be replaced by serum only-no blood
cells or platelets). Exception is the military, and they don't trust memory
either, it is on the dog tag.
