hello gurus, I intend to implement a transaction protocol using SimFlex and I wonder if there is any special resources, particularly about simflex, that I can take a look at.... thanks

Message-ID: <[email protected]> Hi, I'm wondering if Flexus supports CMP+DSM simulation. Based on the document, there are two models: CMP and DSM derived from Piranha. Can I simulate a system with both of them? How fast is it going to be if my target system has 128 processors, is it doable? Thanks much, Fengguang From hardav at cs.cmu.edu Thu Mar 15 13:06:30 2007 From: hardav at cs.cmu.edu (Nikos Hardavellas) List-Post: [email protected] Date: Thu Mar 15 14:35:50 2007 Subject: [Simflex] DSM simulation? In-Reply-To: <[email protected]> References: <[email protected]> Message-ID: <[email protected]> Hi Fengguang, In the past we run a DSM of CMPs without timing (TraceDSMCMPFlex) with up to 64 nodes. We can run 128 nodes in Flexus provided that Simics supports it. However, currently we do not support a DSM of CMPs in timing mode. Now, simulating 128 nodes (even without timing) will be very slow, around 10 KIPS (kilo-instrutions per sec).
