I've tried to set up an experimental timeline by copying the material on
the Getting Started Wiki page, but the results are not what I expect.

I get a grey rectangle with no timeline inside.

I do have an Internet connection, so I don't think the ability to access
the script file is at issue.

I downloaded the local Timeline example, but while I can see the text, none
of the content which I think is supposed to be provided by the javascript
appears.

Also, the link to the "Timeline examples" is dead. I get this message, "The
requested URL /svn/timeline/trunk/src/webapp/site/examples/ was not found
on this server."

So, when I have the HTML file (see attached) saved to my local file system,
and I open the file with a browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari), what I see is
this:

Local Timeline Example

This example reads a local data file from the disk and displays it using
the Simile Timeline library. The software library is retrieved from servers
via the Internet.

The Timeline will grow automatically to fit the events. Scroll towards 2030
to see it grow. Click on an event to see its details.

To move the Timeline: use the mouse scroll wheel, the arrow keys or grab
and drag the Timeline.

Thanks to the Simile Timeline project Timeline version

And nothing to show the timeline itself.

Where have I gone wrong?

Am I expecting the wrong thing?

Thanks.
