Reasonably vanilla implementation of OS X 10.1.2 on a B&W G3, running apache and PERL (for Movable Type). SIMS works mostly very well from Classic (9.2.2).
I have two problems, which I will send in separate messages. Using either PERL Mail::Sendmail 0.78 or WickedlySimple's PortReflector 1.2, I can reliably generate a kernel panic. These apps try to talk to the SMTP port on the system to send mail. Are there any known problems using a Carbon or Cocoa or Unix application to talk to a port in the classic space? My workaround is to have another OS X machine run portreflector and have it map it's ports back to the server. It's a kludge, but no kernel panics. >-------------- Michael Croft "Babeheart?
