Jey, It is not that I would disagree with Eliezer but I would critique that particularly his writings on coherent extrapolated volition could be summed up by putting every living things implicit desire to increase fitness at the center of human wants and work from there. Doing so provides a number of practical (for a post singularity AI at least) courses for action and interesting philosophical insights. I have summed up my thoughts in a paper that is available at http://www.jame5.com/Benevolence-PERNAR.pdf and that I would be great full for getting some feedback on.
