I don't get so much out of their front page recommendations, but I do out of the "related book" recommendations. So if I'm viewing "Artificial General Intelligence" at http://www.amazon.com/Artificial-General-Intelligence-Cognitive-Technologies/dp/354023733X/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/002-3812222-0482414?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1193612063&sr=8-1
then the site tells me I might also be interested in: * The Hidden Pattern by Ben Goertzel * Beyond AI by J. Storrs Hall * I Am a Strange Loop by Douglas Hofstadter * Universal Artificial Intelligence by Marcus Hutter * The Intelligent Universe by James N. Gardner Which is pretty accurate. It's particularly handy for fields I'm less familiar with and bringing new books to my attention. -Chuck On 10/28/07, [EMAIL PROTECTED] <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Interesting how people see in the same data what they are predisposed to. > I ride the tongue-in-cheek mood of the essay till his last three paragraphs > and then focus in upon the ironic conclusions, like where he equates > narrowness to individualism, and subtly bemoans the attack on autonomy. > For my own part, I can't help but notice how insensitive and stupidly > off-base Amazon's recommendations are for me, overall.
