This is my first post to this mailing list, so I apologize if it's out
of topic. I'd like to announce a new initiative that we're about to launch
in a few days. It's called OnSingularity.com. We'll open to the public on
January 7th, but from now until then we're inviting people to join the 100
community founders before the general release.
The concept is similar to Digg.com, in which the community chooses what
news show up on the site, and it facilitates discussions as well. But we'll
have a narrow scope that covers new discoveries in the fields of AI,
nanotechnology, and biotechnology; along with announcements of new
conferences and other related efforts. This is a community driven project.
Members will determine what news and discussions are listed through their
submissions and votes. And, the early members (especially, the 100 community
founders) will influence the community's scope and direction, and that's why
we're starting with invites focused on the Singularity community only before
the general release on Monday.
