SIP implementors,
As you may know, the audio/video transport working group is producing an
update to the RTP specification and audio/video profile.
draft-ietf-avt-rtp-new-05.txt
draft-ietf-avt-profile-new-07.txt
In order to advance these to draft standard RFC, it is necessary to collect
interoperability statements for RTP implementations. Two drafts describe the
type of interoperability statement required
draft-ietf-avt-rtp-interop-02.txt
draft-ietf-avt-profile-interop-00.txt
with a third (draft-ietf-avt-rtptest-02.txt) giving an outline of some
possible testing strategies.
Since many SIP implementations use RTP as their media transport, this
message is a plea for you to consider testing this as part of your SIP
interoperability testing. Test results to date are available from
http://www-mice.cs.ucl.ac.uk/multimedia/misc/avt/RTPinterop/
Please send updates to me (or contact me privately if you have problems
making this information publically available).
Thanks in advance,
Colin Perkins (AVT co-chair)
