An increasing number of SIP/PSTN gateways have been showing up at the
bakeoffs. To my knowledge, none are comercially available yet, but
some appear to be really close. I'm not authorised to talk about
the availability of Ericsson's products.

The minimal behavior of a SIP/ISUP gateway is described in the draft:
http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-camarillo-sip-isup-bcp-00.txt

To build a stable SIP/ISUP gateway that you would be willing to
use on a regular basis would take a fairly large programming
team on the order of several months to a year (IMHO).
