Hi, Nanda, I think you may take a look at TRIP and ENUM. ENUM is able to mapping a telephone number to an Internet URI. And TRIP can help to route a telephony call to the PSTN.

Can anyone answer these questions ?
How is a SIP phone addressed while making a call from PSTN ? How does the
PSTN phone becomes available to the SIP proxy servers ?
