Subject: RE: [Sip-implementors] Which of the Call Flow is correct
fortheCANCELRequest....????
Hi Bob,
Consider when the Orig Party and the Term Party are both UAC, then I
guess
the call flow shall be...
Orig Term
UAC Proxy UAC
| INVITE | |
|------------------->| |
| 100 (INVITE) | |
|<-------------------| INVITE |
| |---------------->|
| CANCEL | |
|------------------->| |
| 200 (CANCEL) | |
|<-------------------| CANCEL |
| |---------------->|
| | 200 (CANCEL) |
| |<----------------|
| | |
| 487 (INVITE) | |
|<-------------------| |
| ACK | |
|------------------->| |
| | |
Please let me know if I am wrong.
[ABN] the above flow is wrong with respect to following points......
1. You can't send CANCEL for the call leg where provisional response was
not generated.
2. We can't make any UAC-UAC call. One of the entities must act like
server (UAS).
The 200OK is for INVITE or CANCEL is differentiated by method parameter
in the CSEQ header... since in this case the CANCEL request carries the
same branch parameter as that of the original INVITE...
Regards,
Atul

Niether. The 487 will be a response to the INVITE, not the CANCEL. The
UAC
will normally get a 200-OK response to the CANCEL and then a 487
response to
the INVITE.
