Tauseef,

Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I *think* that the 300 response is the "default" redirection response - the one that everyone is expected to understand. If you receive a 3xx, and don't understand the particular xx variant, then you are supposed to treat it like a 300 response.

So I think the 300 just says "here are some addresses that your request has been redirected to", without any indication of what the particular intent of the redirection was. The other 3xx responses all provide additional insight into the intent.

Hello

What is the difference between 300 Multiple choices and 301 Moved
Permanenlty.I guess in the 301 response there can be a multiple
contact header fields. And so is the case in 300 Response.
When will the proxy send 300 or 301 ?Is there any particular decision
according to which the proxy will send these responses?

also can a proxy send 300 Multiple choices response with a single contact field?

Thanks ain advance....
Regards
Tauseef
