B responds with 180 Ringing. But does not send 200 ok or 200 ok gets lost. How long should A wait before sending Cancel / Request timeout? Hi, I think an application level timer should be started and it should go off after some predefined time,if no final response is received on the ICT. Since, Timer B is stopped ( I think it is , not sure ) when entering Proceeding state, I don't see any other means to get the transaction out of the Proceeding state, other than some application layer mechanism. [ABN] this issue is about INVITE-client transaction protection timer which is defined to be Timer B. there is no need for any application timer for this purpose....
