Hi,

If the 200 OK response finishes the offer/answer process, yes. You can start
sending media right away.

To send media to the remote side, you need beforehand to know what is the
media connection info on the other side (its IP, port, expected coder for
the session etc.).

If 200 OK starts the offer/answer process, then there's no knowledge on the
remote side's media connection characteristics. So no way to send media to
the destination. You will need to wait for the ACK (with SDP) from the
remote end.

Paulo Borelli.

Subject: [Sip-implementors] media session

Hi all

I would like to know as i did not find any clear answer in the concerned
RFCs, if it is acceptable for a UA to start sending media stream after
sending the 200-Ok and before receiving the ACK from the other side of the
call.

Thanks a lot everybody for your help.
