I think the version of VxWorks you have does not support SRV query.

The problem is not with DNS server because other SIP UA's can resolve the
address with SRV query. Also no SRV query is sent out from our UA. The
problem happens in the VxWorks OS (version 5.5)--- where calling
resolvQuery returns S_resolvLib_TRY_AGAIN in errno.

You might want to check on your DSN server if the SRV RR with key
"_sip._udp.abc.cd.com" is provisioned. You probably have A-RR with key
"ab.cd.com" provisioned on your DNs server.

Hi,
When our stack makes the following call, we always get the following
error (we used a real domain for "ab.cd.com"):
unsigned char answer[PACKETSZ];
resolvQuery("_sip._udp.abc.cd.com", C_IN, T_SRV, answer,
sizeof(answer));
After this line of code we always get S_resolvLib_TRY_AGAIN although the
stack later on succeeds in resolving it through A records of the dns
server. Does anybody have any idea why the SRV lookup is failing at the
OS level in VxWorks 5.5 while the A record is successful. Mind you the
SRV records are not even being sent out on the wire ---- it gets stopped
at the OS layer.
